The first hotel in Switzerland welcomes JEEVES
Robotise’s service robot is handling room service for guests at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport

Munich, 15. January 2021. In a highly successful start, JEEVES is now captivating guests at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport. The service robot delivers drinks, snacks, small meals like burgers, pizza and salad and a range of other items. This contactless service, which takes the items direct to the guests’ door, supports hotel staff in their day-to-day work. The successful launch of the service robot at the hotel in Zurich marks the first foray of the Munich-based technology enterprise Robotise into the Swiss market. Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport is using the latest model of the smart helper, which ensures full compliance with all performance, safety and hygiene requirements.

The Radisson Hotel Group’s commitment to a digital assistant shows just how relevant digital transformation is for the international hotel industry. Daniel Twerenbold, Regional Director Switzerland, Italy, Austria & South East Europe at the Radisson Hotel Group, sees JEEVES as the ideal addition, allowing contactless services for guests: “When I saw JEEVES in a video for the first time, I was instantly convinced that this robot, with its technical capabilities, could provide the ideal support for our room service. We are delighted to be using JEEVES to provide our guests with an exclusive, contactless and secure service that fully complies with our Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol.”

To allow JEEVES to autonomously service all 330 rooms and suites at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport, the control system of the Schindler lifts was upgraded. Now, thanks to innovative cloud technology, the lifts can communicate directly with the service robot, allowing JEEVES to provide seamless service on all floors. “Working hand-in-hand with Robotise and Schindler, we view ourselves as innovation drivers”, says Daniel Twerenbold, “and I am very grateful for this joint project. Our partner Schindler recently reprogrammed our lifts, and we took that as an opportunity to reorganise our service processes.”

By equipping the first hotel in Switzerland with its clever robot, the Munich-based technology company is paving the way for further expansion in the neighbouring country. The desire for contactless, yet outstanding service in the hospitality industry has boosted the demand for the smart service robot: “We are thrilled about the partnership with Radisson Blu Hotel at Zurich Airport,” says Oliver Stahl, CEO Robotise. “It proves that innovative, forward-looking technologies are here to stay in the hotel industry. As an extremely popular tourist destination, Switzerland is an important market for us for the use of service robotics in the hotel industry.”
